With so many fascinating cities in Ontario, it can be easy to forget about events happening in your own backyard. Stratford is a highly energetic, yet charming and quaint city. With events and activities every day, here are a few that are senior-friendly during the month of May.
With spring in the air, viewing fine arts and crafts outdoors is an ideal event for all ages. With the art lined up along the Avon River, this scenic event is hosted every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm. It is free, handicap accessible and can take as little (or as much!) time as you want.
Henny Bremer’s exhibit features miniature quilts that make a big statement. This free event will captivate any crafters, artists, or aspiring quilters alike. It is open during weekdays from 10am-5pm in May and June.
This monthly event encourages socialization and creativity of all ages groups. This free, wheelchair accessible event is ideal for all those who are looking to get out into their communities more. Every month highlights a different craft or art, and people are encouraged to bring their own projects along to work on. This event takes place on Wednesday, May 9th, from 10am-11:30am.
These ideas were recommended by Qualicare employees in our community, who are passionate and involved. Take some time this month and enjoy what our local cities have to offer, and feel free to let us know about any exciting upcoming events.
